Joining pianist Tannis Gibson will be faculty artists Brian Luce (flute), Neil Tatman (oboe), Jerry Kirkbride (clarinet), William Dietz (bassoon) and Daniel Katzen (horn) performing Beethoven's Quintet for Piano and Winds in E-flat Major, Op. 16.
Additional pieces will include Wind Quintet No 1 from 1953 by Hungarian composer Endre Szervansky and Cuban jazz artist and composer Paquito d'Rivera's crossover work, Aries Tropicales. This seven-movement work samples some of the popular musical and dance influences that shaped d'Rivera's outlook during his youth in Cuba.
